MEASURING STUDENT OUTCOMES
Board decisions must improve opportunities and outcomes for all Oakland students. Equity and excellence work together. Alexandra's classroom and administrative experience demonstrate that quality instruction yields strong results. Every decision should be assessed on whether it improves well-being, opportunity, and outcomes for Oakland students.
STRATEGIC & TRANSPARENT USE OF RESOURCES
All board choices require clear fiscal consideration and measurable impact. "The math has to math." Alexandra brings budget understanding, cost-benefit analysis skills, and a commitment to ensuring every dollar directly supports students and effective teaching.
SAFER & SUPPORTIVE SCHOOLS
Students thrive in environments where they feel safe, seen, and supported. Creating that environment requires neighborhood partnerships, meaningful parental involvement, and consistent behavioral standards that promote classroom belonging and community safety.
COMMUNITY-DRIVEN LEADERSHIP
Families, educators, and students always have a seat at the table. Strategic goals should reflect the community's vision; guardrails should honor community values. Alexandra is committed to uniting educators and families around what matters most: students.
BOARD CAPACITY & TRAINING
Adult behavior must change for student outcomes to improve. Alexandra will focus on board training, clearly defined governance roles, building a continuous learning culture, and increasing the amount of time board meetings are dedicated to discussing student outcomes.
